For many factories, warehouses, supermarkets, hotels and office parks, a battery system of around 250 kWh hits the sweet spot: large enough to cut peak demand, store a meaningful share of rooftop solar and carry critical loads, yet compact enough to install beside an existing switchroom. It also pairs naturally with commercial rooftop solar arrays and makes a practical first step for businesses building towards zero-carbon operation. MPMC builds this class of system as the HBD-125-260, available in two versions so each commercial and industrial (C&I) site gets the architecture that suits it best.
Two Versions of the HBD-125-260
HBD-A Version for Grid-Connected Sites
The HBD-A Series HBD-125-260 delivers 125 kW of rated AC power from 261 kWh of storage, roughly two hours at full output. It uses LFP 314Ah cells rated for 8,000 cycles at 90% depth of discharge, liquid cooling, MPMC’s EPCS-125AM power conversion module and a 400 V three-phase connection. The system is rated IP54, with IP67 battery packs, operates from -20°C to +55°C and up to 3,000 m altitude, and carries CE-certified aerosol fire protection. It supports on-grid and off-grid switching, with seamless switching available as an option, plus external PV inverter and ATS integration.
HBD-E Version With Integrated Solar Inverter
The HBD-E Series HBD-125-260 combines inverter, PCS and EMS in a single cabinet, with 125 kW of rated power, 261.2 kWh of capacity and up to 250 kWp of PV input, so a site can connect its solar array directly without buying a separate inverter. It is CE and CEC certified, rated IP54, cooled by HVLC, handles 150% overload for 10 seconds and offers 6,000 cycles at 90% depth of discharge, with remote control by app or PC over 4G, 5G or WiFi and an open protocol for custom EMS integration.

What a 250 kWh System Does for a C&I Site
Three Value Streams From One Cabinet
The EMS charges the battery during off-peak hours and discharges it during peak demand, lowering the maximum kW draw on which utility demand charges are based. With rooftop PV, the system stores surplus midday solar and releases it into the evening peak, raising self-consumption. During a supply interruption, on-grid/off-grid switching keeps critical loads such as refrigeration, servers and lighting running.
Capacity scales with the business. HBD-A power and capacity are expandable, and the same series continues through the HBD-210-410, HBD-250-1000, HBD-500-1000 and HBD-1000-2000, so a site can start at 250 kWh and grow on one platform with one EMS.
Installation is straightforward. Each cabinet arrives factory-assembled with its battery packs, power conversion, fire protection and EMS integrated, so on-site work focuses on the electrical connection and commissioning. Once running, the system can be monitored and controlled remotely through MPMC’s SCADA platform, which reports energy savings in automated monthly and annual reports.
